Horsehair Applicator Brush

A quality applicator brush is one of the most useful tools in any proper shoe care routine. Made from 100% horsehair, this brush features firm yet flexible bristles that allow for controlled and even application of cream polishes and conditioners.

Its compact design makes it particularly effective for working product into seams, around the welt, and along sole edges — areas that are often difficult to reach with a cloth alone. When used consistently, it helps ensure cleaner application and better overall results.

Available in both black and natural, each brush should be dedicated to a specific color family to prevent unintended staining.

Best Used For:

• Applying cream polishes (Médaille d’Or and Beauté du Cuir)
• Applying leather conditioners
• Working product into welts and sole edges
• Rejuvenating sole and heel edges with colored cream

Usage Notes

• Use black brushes for black polish only.
• Use natural brushes for tan, brown, and lighter shades.
• Avoid using the same brush for both dark and light colors, as pigment transfer can darken lighter leather.
• At minimum, two brushes are recommended — one for black and one for brown tones. Ideally, black polish should always have its own dedicated brush.
• Ideally, you would have multiple brushes for: Tan (1), Burgundy/Plum (1), Dark Brown (1), Blue/Green (1) and Black (1). 

For best results, use this brush to apply cream polish or conditioner evenly, then follow with a dedicated 6" Horsehair Shine Brush to buff the leather and develop a clean, even finish.
