The Romanoff X is a wholecut Oxford with a strong, softly chiseled toe and an exceptionally clean upper. Wholecuts create their impact through simplicity: with so little stitching to interrupt the leather, the eye follows the shape and finish of the shoe instead.

The model’s construction and pronounced waist give it a dressy, contemporary appearance. It is the sort of Oxford that works particularly well when the rest of an outfit is deliberately understated.

Antique tan gives the Romanoff X extra dimensionality across its largely unbroken upper. The warm, graduated appearance suits the modern chisel toe and brings out the carefully shaped waist. It is an effective option with navy tailoring or light trousers when black would feel too predictable.
