The Bitter Chocolate plain derby keeps things simple, letting the leather, last, and proportions do most of the work. The calf leather keeps the finish dressy and lets the pattern stay crisp. Built on the Char Last, it keeps the proportions intentional and true to the model.
Upper leather : Full grain Box Calf
Lining leather : Drum dyed crust
Outsole : Closed channeled leather outsole
Insole : Flexible 5 mm channeled vegetable tanned leather, made in Tuscany, Italy by traditional slow chestnut pit tanning method

The Char Last pays homage to classic British Goodyear tradition. It features a slightly rounded square toe that softens the chisel shape, offering a roomier, more accommodating fit. With its deep instep and refined character around the vamp, the Char blends traditional elegance with lasting comfort.

Length – Standard/Non-Elongated
Width – Snug/Standard
Instep – Snug/Low
Mid Foot (arch) – Snug/Hugging
I did not find this fitting with a deep instep and/or a generous fit. I found it very hugging with a low instep.
