This J.FitzPatrick horsebit loafer is made in a gold marble patina, which gives the leather far more life than your standard flat brown calf loafer. The apron stitching and silver bit detail keep it classic, but the finish gives it that bit of Shoe Snob personality — elegant, but not trying to disappear.
This is the kind of loafer I have always liked: easy to wear, slightly bold, and far more interesting than the usual anonymous penny loafer. It is still a classic shape, but with enough character to make someone actually notice the shoes, which, frankly, is the point.

As a standard rule for J.FitzPatrick loafers, they are cut them more snugly compared to their laced shoes in the same size.
For the butterfly loafer, on the TMG Last, we recommend that most gentlemen stick with the same size as their laced shoes. The exception is if you wear your laced shoes without room to spare, in which case we recommend you take a half size up. If you have a low instep, we recommend you size down as this has a low-cut vamp.
